What is Home Budget Analytics?

Home Budget Analytics is a personal finance app that turns raw bank statements into a clear, categorized picture of your spending. Upload a statement file — or log income and expenses by hand — and it automatically deduplicates transactions, sorts them into categories using rules you control, converts everything to your home currency at the real exchange rate, and tracks your progress toward savings goals. There's no AI making decisions about your money: every categorization rule is one you approved, and it keeps working the same way every time.

How it works

Three steps between "I have a bank statement" and "I know where my money went."

1

Upload a statement

Drop in a CSV, PDF, Excel, OFX/QFX, CAMT.053 or QIF export from your bank. Santander (Spain), Monobank (Ukraine) and PrivatBank (Ukraine) are recognized automatically — for any other CSV or TXT layout, you map the columns once and it's remembered for every file from that bank after that.

2

Let it sort itself out

Every transaction is matched against category rules with plain substring matching against merchant names. The first time a new merchant shows up, you're asked once — your answer becomes a rule that applies automatically to every matching transaction, past and future.

3

See the full picture

Your dashboard shows spending by category, month-over-month trends, upcoming recurring payments, and progress toward your savings goals — all converted to your home currency using the real exchange rate on each transaction's own date.

Everything a budget spreadsheet does, minus the manual work

Built around how bank statements and real spending actually look — multiple formats, multiple currencies, and rules you stay in control of.

Multi-format statement import

CSV, XLS/XLSX, PDF, OFX/QFX, CAMT.053 (ISO 20022) and QIF are all supported. An unrecognized CSV or TXT layout gets a one-time column-mapping step that's remembered for every future file from that bank.

Automatic, private categorization

No AI, no LLM calls, nothing shared with a third party. Categorization is plain rule-based matching against merchant names — every rule you create keeps working on every future statement, forever.

True multi-currency support

Every transaction keeps its original amount and currency permanently. Reports convert to your home currency using the real exchange rate from each transaction's own date, not today's.

Savings goals that prioritize themselves

Set one or more goals and each month's real net savings (income minus expenses) flows to your highest-priority goal first, cascading to the next once it's funded — with a projected completion date based on your trailing 90-day savings rate.

Recurring income & expenses

Rent, salary, subscriptions — log them once as recurring and they're counted automatically every month, including catching up on months already past so your totals are right immediately.

Deep spending & analytics

See any month's category breakdown or a full 12-month trend, broken down by category or by income versus expenses, updated the moment a new statement comes in.

Nine languages

English, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish — the whole app, every email, and this page.

Privacy by design

Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Statement files are kept private on our servers and used only to extract your transactions — nothing is shared with third parties beyond the payment processor needed for billing.

Questions, answered

The short version of everything below: your data stays private, categorization is automatic but never a black box, and the trial is genuinely free for 14 days.

Santander (Spain), Monobank (Ukraine) and PrivatBank (Ukraine) statements are recognized automatically in .xlsx, .xls, .csv or .pdf. Home Budget Analytics also reads OFX/QFX, CAMT.053 (ISO 20022) and QIF exports, which most banks across the US, Canada, UK, EU, Ukraine, Australia and New Zealand can produce. Any other CSV or TXT export can be imported too — you tell it once which column is which, and it's remembered for next time.

For CSV/TXT files, you map the columns yourself in a one-time step, or send the file in and it's added within 24 hours. For every other format (PDF, XLS/XLSX, OFX/QFX, QIF, CAMT.053), the file is kept automatically and support for your bank is typically added within 24 hours — no extra action needed.

No AI, and nothing is sent to a third party for it. Categorization is entirely rule-based: when a merchant is seen for the first time, you're asked to pick a category once, and that rule is then applied automatically to every matching transaction, past and future. You can edit or add rules any time.

Every transaction keeps its own original amount and currency permanently. Your home currency (set in Settings) only controls what currency totals and reports are converted to and summed in, using the real exchange rate on each transaction's own date.

Set a target amount and, optionally, what you've already saved toward it. Real net savings each month go toward your highest-priority goal first, then cascade to the next once it's funded. A projected completion date is estimated from your trailing 90-day savings rate.

Not a native app, but it's fully responsive and installs like one: on iPhone, tap Share and choose "Add to Home Screen"; on Android, open the browser menu and choose "Add to Home screen" (or "Install app"). Either way you get a full-screen icon on your home screen — your browser will usually offer to do this automatically after a visit or two.
